Mrs. Taliaferro had quite an impressive teaching resume before coming SMS. She taught high school English and French for 17 years before teaching courses in American Literature here at St. Margaret’s. Mrs. Taliaferro also has coordinated Speakers Bureau, a program that brought public speakers and performers to campus.  Past performers range from theatre and dance groups to environmental speakers, cultural educators to writers and storytellers. She is currently working on a similar program on women in careers for the '08-'09 school year.

She lives with her husband, David and their Black Lab, Casey, on the shores of the Rappahannock River. She and David have two grown sons, two daughters-in-law, and six grandchildren on whom they dote.
